Pelvic Floor Therapy
Helping you get long-lasting relief from pelvic symptoms with a comprehensive, holistic, whole-body approach
Addressing pelvic health concerns can be intimidating. Pelvic conditions can feel debilitating, embarrassing, annoying and even isolating.
You might have thoughts that “this is how it’s always going to be now” or “I feel like I’m falling apart” or “I know I can get better with physical therapy but it seems like it’s just so awkward!”
Our goal is to help alleviate any fears you have about this journey and help you get to a point where you think “Remember that time I used to have problems with ____? I totally forgot about that!”
With the help of pelvic floor physical therapy, you can go on that long road trip without frequent bathroom breaks, jump and play with your kids without feeling like somethings falling out of you, workout without having to wear pads or dark pants, and enjoy intimacy with your partner without worrying about what's going on in your pelvis or if you’re going to hurt later.
At Core Strong Physical Therapy, getting well is more than just doing kegels and giving you a pre-determined printout of home exercises that you could have found online.
You are assessed at every session as a whole human with your own unique history and movement patterns that are contributing to your symptoms.
Together, we develop an individualized plan to help you reach the goals you have and the ones you haven’t allowed yourself to dream. We value helping our community move beyond “medical necessity" and help you build a life you love living!
While many pelvic conditions and symptoms are common, we can reject the standard that it is “normal”. At Core Strong Physical Therapy, we treat the most common and the most complex of cases, and we look forward to helping you find the right solution for you!

Pelvic Pain
Orthopedic Physical Therapy
Our bodies are amazing adaptive machines but over time, we can create compensation patterns that can lead to breakdown and persistent pain. Many people try physical therapy for orthopedic conditions without lasting relief because their pelvic floor was overlooked. When key muscle groups are underused or overworked, pain and dysfunction persist. By retraining movement and restoring balance throughout the whole body, from foot to head, we can give you the best chances at finally saying goodbye to that stubborn pain.
Common orthopedic conditions we treat:
Low back pain
Mid back pain
Abdominal pain
Hip/Groin pain
Sacroilic (SI) joint dysfunction
Pregnancy and Postpartum Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy
The acceptance of pregnancy and postpartum pelvic symptoms has become all too common in our society, many times because people are unaware that anything can be done to help them. At Core Strong Physical Therapy, we help you alleviate pain and improve bladder, bowel and prolapse symptoms, as well as help keep you active throughout all stages of pregnancy and during the postpartum period. We work with you to help you feel confident going into labor and birth and help you get back to the activities you love after baby arrives!
What we can help you with:
Diastasis Rectus Abdominus (DRA)/Coning/Doming
Bladder leakage and urgency
Labor and birth prep to reduce the risk of birth related injuries
C-section recovery
Reducing postpartum symptoms of urine leakage, pain with sex, weakness and DRA
Prolapse (cystocele, rectocele and uterine prolapse)
Urinary Leakage, Urgency & Frequency
Urinary leakage, urgency and frequency are all considered bladder dysfunctions, which is a fancy way of saying “anything that’s not working quite right with your bladder.” Bladder dysfunction, specifically incontinence and urgency, are very common but this does not mean it’s normal and that you have to continue to suffer!
Common bladder dysfunctions:
Urinary Incontinence (involuntary loss of urine)
Urinary Urgency (can’t get to the bathroom on time or always feeling the need to go)
Difficulty Initiating Bladder Emptying (feel like you have to go but can’t get it to start)
Incomplete Bladder Emptying (don’t feel like everything came out and need to go again right after you just went)
Nocturia (waking up to go at night)
Enuresis (bedwetting)
Bowel dysfunction is inclusive of anything that can go awry in the bowels. Sometimes medications and supplements are needed for helping manage our bowels but many times we are able to do this naturally with the foods we eat, fluids we drink and just the right kind of movements.
Bowel dysfunctions physical therapy can treat:
Fecal Urgency (can’t get to the bathroom on time or always feeling the need to go)
Fecal Incontinence (involuntary loss of pieces of stool, watery stool, or smearing on the underwear)
Flatulence (passing gas)
Constipation (can’t go!)
Diarrhea (it’s coming out like lava!)
Outlet dysfunction (it’s right there but it won’t come out)
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) (this can be constipation or diarrhea driven or both)
Adhesions (scar tissue from inflammatory illnesses or surgery can pinch sections of the bowels, leading to dysfunction)
Constipation & Bowel Pain
Post Surgical Care
Any time we have surgery, our body builds scar tissue to reinforce the injured area. This is a good thing! The problem is when the scar tissue gets a little wild and grows more than we need and/or starts to limit movement or cause pain.
We recommend pelvic floor physical therapy for all abdominal and pelvic surgeries, including hysterectomy, endometriosis excision, fibroid removal, prolapse repair, c-section, bowel resection or abdominoplasty.
Physical therapy treatment can help you feel confident before and after your surgery in managing pain, movement, your scar mobility, and returning to activity in a way that feels safe and supportive to you.
How we can help:
Help you learn ways to get up and down from chairs and out of bed with reduced stress to your surgical site
Decrease pain and discomfort around the surgical site
Improve your scar mobility
Help you feel comfortable and confident returning to activities you love
Everyone has a pelvic floor, not just people with vaginas. Many people with penises have pelvic dysfunction but don’t know that there are people out there who can help them. Oftentimes they are given multiple rounds of antibiotics for bladder, prostate or fungal infections that were never confirmed by cultures but since they are experiencing pain or bladder urgency, their doctors keep prescribing more medications for infection. Believe it or not, that pain can be coming from the muscles and the nerves and mimicking the signs of infection.
Symptoms we treat:
Constipation
Bladder urgency, frequency and leakage
Bowel urgency, frequency and leakage
Sexual dysfunction
Tailbone pain
Pelvic pain
Genital pain
